I am still waiting for a number of replies re the book signing before I can sort out its route around the world. Could I ask that if for whatever reason people do not ant to sign would they also contact me. I appreciate people could be away etc so will give it a few more days before personally emailing those that have not replied.

All the best, Carl

I am still waiting for another two copies of the book to arrive before I can send them on their way around the world. Please contact me if you haven't already as we'd really like everyone to sign the book both for Kensal Green and just as import for Quinn too!

Thanks for doing this Carl! And thanks for the gift! That's very kind!

The book sales are slowing down now - although we have time, I would really like to emphasize putting this out there. That's a big number to reach in (relative) short amount of time.

Everything at Kensal Green is in place, just waiting for the cash...

Wow - not even every one that is in the book has purchased one probably less than 30% given the amount that have purchased more than one - this is a little disappointing considering the effort and cause!

I'm one of those that's in the book but haven't purchased yet.
It will happen within the next few months, but finances don't allow the expense right now.
I'd also like to participate in Quinn's online gig, but it just ain't gonna happen for awhile.
I have told all the photographers I know but many can't justify the expense.
Is there a deadline to raise the funds?
Did anyone post on the lf forum?

Carl,
I just posted a notice and link to both my facebook and my flickr accounts.  It would be nice to get some publicity on the project. Has anyone made up a press release? With the holidays coming up, it would make a great gift.

I know it's a tough time (financially) - I was wondering how that might affect this, or if it was even wise to try to do. We'll do what we can - we have a tentative end date of March/April 2010 - we have some time, but you know how times goes: fast.

Mark/Scott; I would post/market this as much as possible. I haven't had time to do a proper marketing campaign with it (or any of my latest projects) - a press release would be wonderful (Mark). It would be great if we could get all of the contributors to market the book, too - after all IT'S YOURS! and it's a GREAT cause!

Mark, on a personal note; this is what we're giving all of our family/friends as gifts! You're right, it's the best gift I've given in a long time!

I posted a link on the LF forum a while back.  I ordered only one, trying to save money, but pushed it with all my family and friends.  I may buy a couple more to give for Xmas.

The book is on its way. I'll keep you posted folks. I'd ask that we keep it to pencil but if you really feel strongly then fill your boots.

Thanks, Carl.

Update: We're slowly moving toward the goal (emphasis: slowly). I'm just finishing an article about the project and WWPD for CiM (Creative Image Maker). I'm not sure how large the viewership is, but it all helps. I'm going to use some of the imagery that was submitted for the book and reference the wetplateday.org site, too. Let me know if any of you that participated have a problem with using your imagery.

Again, please put the word, and the URL, out about this project. Time is ticking away and we want to be able to finish what we started. Thanks for the support and contributions so far!

Also,  in the not-to-distance future, there will be a call for entries for an exhibition of wet plate Collodion imagery. This will be exhibited in the Dissenter's Gallery in London for the Archer ceremony. It will be a juried show.

More to follow as time goes on.

Sadly, the reality is that people don't buy books. I found this out the hard way. Looking forward to the Dissenter's Gallery show. I need an excuse to go to London!

I agree, Matt. I think we can do this though, I really do - we're only asking for a couple of hundred sales. However, you always have to have a contingency plan, and we do. That would be great to see you in London. I hope you are serious.

After a bit of a slow start the book is soon to leave the UK to Europe. I still do not have address for the folk that are shown in red and so if I have not address by the time the book arrives to the person before them they will be by-passed and miss signing the books which will be a great shame. If anyone is in direct contact with any of those in red it may be worth pointing out that they are not on the book tour - I have not made direct contact in case people prefer not to sign the book for whatever reason. The planned route is as follows:

Fabrice Pejout - Paris, France
Edouard Franqueville - Paris, France

Ruud Voerman - Lelystad, The Netherlands

AtelieRetaguardia & Lourdes Delgado - Barcelona, Spain

Stefan Sappert - Texing, Austria

Jiri Kozubik - Vizovice, Czek Republic

Michal Sitkiewicz - Torun, Poland
Michal Drygalski - Gdansk, Poland

Roman Kravchenko - Crimea, Ukraine

Alexey Alexeev - Saint-Petersburg, Russia

Then to the Americas!  The obvious - i know Quinn is not on the Europe circulation - his will be the final destination :)
